Cook/chef

Chillagoe Cockatoo Hotel and Bar is located approx 3.5hrs west of Cairns in the beautiful Australian outback!

We are looking for our next friendly team member who is an experienced cook/chef with a start date in December. Applicant does not need to be trade qualified but needs to enjoy making great tucker for our regular outback locals and our visiting tourists as we are currently in our peak tourist season.

Menu includes a standard cooked breakfast for our hotel guests, a burger lunch menu and a limited dinner menu including steak/burgers/schnitzels. Training will be provided by our pub owner who is also the current cook.

Your role will be as a Cook - Grade 2 or 3 (dependant on skills/qualifications) and you will need to be able to work independantly and confidently. Your fulltime roster will also include some hours operating our outback bar (bar service, bar cleaning, fridge stacking) so you need to be a great all rounder! For the right applicant a management position upgrade would be offered with an appropriate management salary which would provide a handy income for further travellling!

This role enables working holiday makers to complete the 88 days under your Visa and comes with complimentary room and board in a private room with ensuite.

This role is available NOW as it will enable our owner to take some time off during the week.
