We are on a small 10-acre farm in Buninyong, located 1.5 hours west of Melbourne near Ballarat, Victoria. We are looking for individuals or couples to help with general gardening and maintenance around and in the house. We would expect 4-5 hours work x 5 days per week in return for food and board (plus access to wifi internet). If you work in the mornings then you have afternoons & evening available to sightsee and relax.
We have a large farmhouse with spare bedrooms. Accommodation is in a clean comfortable room in our house. Shared meals or you can cook yourself if preferred. We have an electric bike available for personal use to explore the area and there are many beautiful walking tracks in the area. We share our area with lots of wildlife including kangaroos, and birds. We are close to Ballarat which has a train to Melbourne and we can facilitate transport to the train station if required.
We are both in our early 60's, our children have left home and been replaced with 2 dogs and a cat, that are friendly, plus 10 cows. We are a 10-minute drive to the local shops/supermarkets/petrol stations. Daylesford and local wineries are 30 30-minute drive away
Julian and I are both Australian and grew up in Melbourne. We have travelled extensively through work and our love of travel but have been settled on Buninyong for this next chapter in our life. We would love to share this beautiful area of Victoria with you.
You must have a reasonable understanding of English (and we are more than happy to help out with furthering your language skills. It is preferable that helpers stay for a minimum of 1 week and can stay longer if suitable. Responsible alcohol use, no smoking inside our home.
