Backpacker Jobs Wollongong
Beautiful Wollongong, situated around an hour and a half south of metropolitan Sydney, is a backpacker's paradise! Gorgeous coastline, thriving nightlife, delicious restaurants and spectacular wildlife - what more could you ask for? Many Sydney-siders are making the move down south to capitalise on the lower housing prices and accessibility of education and real estate.
Not only is The 'Gong (as it is affectionately known) great for sightseeing and partying, it is also a commercial hub which offers many lucrative short term work gigs. With its multitude of surf camps, surf instructors are in demand in Wollongong, and the booming tourism industry means hospitality workers will also find plenty of jobs on offer, from cleaners to front desk, administration and food/beverage staff at major hotels. The plentiful cafes also offer ample opportunities for baristas and trained wait staff.
Not only will working in the hospitality industry earn you plenty of pocket money, you will also establish a solid network of like-minded, fun individuals. Many Australian tourists gain transient work in bars or restaurants and make long term friends and future travel buddies.
