Farmhand

We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive person to join us on our family owned and run grain farm. We are situated only 2.5 hours east of Perth.
We grow wheat, canola, barley and lupins. Our machinery is new and high end with the latest technology such as GPS and auto steer. If you enjoy working outdoors, operating big machinery on a large property and don't mind a bit of banter then this could be a great job for you.

Grain production is the primary focus of the enterprise and as such the successful applicant will require good mechanical, machine operation and maintenance skills.

Skill Set Required
• Good mechanical skills
• Operate and maintain machinery
• Be able to work within a team

Skill Set Desired
• A background in agriculture
• Weld and repair damaged machinery. Construct small engineering tasks
• Truck driver's license.

General Outline of Duties
• Implement operational plans in a timely manner
• General farm work as and when required.
• Scheduled general maintenance and upkeep of farm vehicles and machinery.
• Farm infrastructure maintenance such as fencing; shed repairs, welding and construction.
• Tractor driving for seeding


Pay is generous and scaled depending on your skill level with superannuation additional. No livestock . The hours and days of work for the periods of intensive activity (seeding and harvest) shall be on as needed basis, normally 6.25 days per week. For fairness payment within these times will be at an hourly rate. Hence the monetary component of the package includes a base salary component then replaced with an incentive component based on hours worked for busy periods of seeding and harvest. Seeding due to start in 2 weeks.

We are flexible as to how long you wish to stay, there is no end date and you can start as soon as you're available. Applicants who wish to stay beyond 88 days will be looked on very favourably.

The job includes free accommodation, the use of a work ute and all amenities such as electricity paid for. If you are easy to get on with, have a good work ethic and don't mind working alone or with others you may just the right fit for our business.
