Job Description

GREAT RURAL AU PAIR POSITION/FARMHAND WITH VISA SIGN OFF- 6 SEPTEMBER 2020 START. Busy rural family looking for our next wonderful au pair! We require a friendly outgoing live in au pair to join the family. This is a fabulous opportunity to experience rural Australian life on a farm in the lovely Central West of NSW. Opportunity to sign off on second year visa for right applicant. We have three children aged 8 yrs, 6 years and 4yrs! We live on a sheep/cattle/cropping farm in Canowindra (Central West NSW)- 11km out of the township of Canowindra and approx. 60km (45min drive) from the major township of Orange (36,000 people). We run a family farming operation and I am a professional working in Orange (50mins away). With all this in mind we need support with our children, house cleaning & tidying, meal prep & generally helping to keep our busy lives on track. This is a live in au pair role including accommodation in our furnished cottage (400m from the main house). Your role with our children is pivotal and a genuine love of children is essential (kids can tell)!!! Preferably we are looking for someone who has experience in childcare or can demonstrate a credible understanding of the expectations of young children. We are looking for a reliable, honest & organised person. We have been hosting au pairs for the last 5 years. Our two eldest daughters are at school, our little boy is at preschool two days per week. The role includes childcare for the days when Mum is at work, assistance with all daily activities associated with the children and within the house, gardening, errands or farm jobs (supervised). This means that for the right person we could assist with your 2nd/3rd year visa application. Flexibility is essential as longer hours may be required due to the nature of the businesses we run. Weekends will generally be your own. We produce grain/lamb/wool/cattle- hence this position may not be ideal for vegetarians, gluten free or fussy eaters.
We are looking for someone to become an extension of our family. The preferred applicant would be mature, have good English skills, good communication, is trustworthy, is neat & tidy. You must be a competent, safe driver (gravel roads). Manual & auto driving skills preferable. You will need to provide proof you hold a drivers license & hold travel insurance.
