Fruit Picker

Job Description
We are seeking Fruit Pickers for our large scale Fruit picking operation in located in the Huon Valley, Tasmania. The role sees you responsible for picking a range of different fruits.

Your Skills
You will need to have good communication skills, be able to follow direction and prove yourself as a team player. Good performers will have the opportunity for further work once berry seasons finished, please ensure you can prove the following:
• Picking experience (not essential)
• Physically fit and able to work extended hours and flexible shifts
• Committed to getting to work on time
• Not Allergic to wasps and bees
• Committed to the whole season
• Other duties as required

Work pattern:
• Typically 5 or 6 days a week, Monday to Sunday
• Hours per day can be up to 10 hours depending on the stage of the crop
• Picking crews typically have rolling days off to ensure everyone is able to stay energetic

Pay rate:
• Picking is paid under Piece Rate
• An average competent Picker has the opportunity to earn more than the base rate in the Horticulture Award

Benefits:
• Higher than the Horticultural Award wage rate (base hourly pay rate currently 2.5% above the horticulture award base rate)
• Piece Rate pay allows you to control your earning potential
• Pay in line with the Tru-Blue Berries Farm Agreement including double Piece Rate pay for work on Public Holidays and longer paid breaks than required by the Horticulture Award
• Ongoing work available from Dec to April/May in Tasmania
• Full COVID protocols in place to protect all workers - registered COVID Safe Business TAS
