Showjumping Groom

Yirrkala Stud is a boutique Warmblood Showjumping Stud situated on the Central Coast NSW, 1 1/2 hours north of Sydney.We are looking for an experienced friendly enthusiastic, self motivated Groom/Stable hand who is looking to be part of a small team of professionals. The person MUST have had prior experience working in a competition environment.
Duties will include:- daily care of horses and their environments- grooming for rider(s)- feeding horses- daily rugging/unrugging- daily paddock cleaning- water trough cleaning- daily shelter cleaning- arena raking and lunging. It would be ideal if you have had previous grooming experience and have groomed a shows.
You need to be able to work by yourself as well as be happy to be part of a small team. Please do not apply if you do not have suitable experience. This is at least a 3 month assignment with a 2 week trial period. Working hours are 5 days a week (sun-thurs usually) 8 hours a set (7:30-4:30). We pay award rates. We cannot provide 2nd year visas. Shared accommodation is provided however you will need your own transport. And you must be able to drive a manual vehicle and speak reasonable English.
