Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Handyman/Maintenance Officer to take up a role on a full-time basis to ensure that the presentation and upkeep of our Hotel is maintained. We are competitive and environmentally conscious, continuously refurbishing and keeping up with trends, in order to remain the market leader in terms of occupancy, profitability and guest experience.
Working as part of a small but extremely dedicated hotel team, this role will undertake a variety of proactive and reactive, skilled based and general maintenance repair works around the hotel.
This role will see key involvement in the following areas:
Ensuring all items logged for action are attended to & completing the repair and replacement maintenance throughout the property in a timely manner
Assist in general maintenance of the hotel, including painting, repairs to furniture, fixtures and fittings, ensuring hotel facilities are operating to maximum level
Ensure guest requests and needs are met within a timely manner
Adhere to safety and security measures in accordance with all applicable laws & Hotel standards & procedures
Providing instruction and training to team members
Coordinating inventory and parts for internal works
Coordinating and liaise with external contractors when required
Assist other departments within the Hotel with any reported maintenance issues
The successful candidate will possess:
Previous Hospitality experience is a must
Relevant trade qualifications or experience
Sound knowledge in general building, maintenance and repairs
Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and Public Holidays
Strong communication, organisational and time management skills with attention to detail
The ability to work well within a team and unsupervised
Understanding of Occupational Health & Safety legislation and Australian Standards
Basic computer literacy
