PICKER, PACKER, SELLER- Lonsdale Tomato Farm
We produce the finest and freshest tomatoes, lettuce and herbs on the Bellarine Peninsula across two farms in Point Lonsdale and Portarlington. We grow our fruit and veggies in greenhouses using a hydroponic set-up and tend to all of our plants by hand; nurturing, preening, pruning, pollinating, plumping and hand picking to ensure our fruit and veggies are the highest quality our customers can buy. These soilless growing conditions are completely environmentally controlled, making working conditions very comfortable. We are located on the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula which is a popular tourist destination with beautiful beaches and surrounds just 25 minutes south of Geelong.
We are looking for a team of enthusiastic individuals who will help us manage our farmer's market stalls on Saturday and Sunday every week in various suburbs including Alphington, Coburg, Carlton, Gasworks, Elwood and Boroondara. This will involve driving our fresh produce in the morning from to our market stalls and independently managing the stall and selling to our customers. You need to have your own car that can fit at least 20 crates of produce. The base rate for farmers market is $150 with incentives that can see you earning upto $300 per market. Melbourne location is ideal if you are just looking for weekend work and do farmers markets.
For those looking for 5 days of work per week, picking, packing and other work can be made available at the farm during weekdays. The ideal location in that case will be near Geelong such that it is logistically possible to travel to the farm on 3 weekdays and to Melbourne at early mornings during weekends to do Farmer's markets.
These are physically demanding roles and would include picking, pruning and other farm work.
We are looking for workers who can commit to doing at least 4 -6 months of work with us. We do not provide accommodation and please do note that it is not easy to find affordable accommodation on the Peninsula.
