Job Description

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
- Must have a current driver's licence and own reliable transport. You can't carpool but you can get a car once you arrived here.
- Must be open to working 7 days a week on a rotating roster (but not necessarily working every day).
- Must have a can-do attitude, energetic, positive mindset, and excellent attention to detail.
- Previous farming experience looked upon favourably, but not essential - if you're willing to learn and take on constructive feedback, we can train you!

We're on the lookout for multiple Onion Graders to join our Onion Farm Crew in Don, Tasmania - this work will start from mid January until roughly July/August (ongoing work if you're open minded and keen!) - regular shifts (35+ hours pw), great culture on the farm and certainly within the Lefties!

What Is Onion Grading?
Onion Grading is the checking and sorting of onions. This consists of standing stationery indoors for long periods of time. Onions are presented on the conveyer belt in front of you, as it moves past you at waist height. The conveyer belt is constantly moving past at all times, you are expected to keep pace with the conveyer belt while you sort onions into categories such as waste and size requirements. Full training is provided.

- Hourly rate of $26.73, plus super (Horticulture Award 2020) + 15% loading where applicable (afternoon shifts)
- Monday - Friday workdays, with occasional weekend work (so you can relax and enjoy most of your weekends!).

Farm work can be physical and in weather of all sorts - this means our workers must be physically fit and mentally tough. This is a casual position - whilst there are no guarantee of hours, we work hard towards shifts being regular and consistent, and provide options to work across various farms to top up hours if desired. Ongoing work is an option for those who show they are open minded, committed and reliable.
