Dairy Farm Hand

Dairy Farm Milking Position – Must currently be in Australia to apply. Eligible for visa extension. Will consider sponsorship for permanent residency for the right applicant after trial.

Middle Tarwin, South Gippsland, Victoria *

We are looking for 1 staff member to assist us with the day to day running of our dairy farm in Middle Tarwin. It is a 500 cow dairy farm with a 50 unit rotary dairy. We calve once a year June to August. We do our own silage and hay during spring and early summer so tractor experience is a bonus.

Duties will include: using quad bike to collect cows from paddock, milking, mastitis detection, cleaning, calf rearing (June to Sept) and general farm duties. Milking times are 5am and 2:30pm. This is a fast paced work environment so please only apply if you are fit and willing to work with high intensity.
Minimum of 30-38 hours per week, possible more for capable person. No couples – please don’t apply. Dairy farm experience desirable however on farm training will be provided so if you have no experience but are interested please apply (must have some aptitude for farming/manual labour).

Accommodation available free in caravan on farm, must have own transportation (due to remote location of farm). Casual rate of $28.26 or permanent position rate $23.50 per hour with paid overtime after 38hrs, and annual leave accrual.

Duration: minimum 3 months, may consider shorter for experienced people.
We have previously hosted WHV holders and can provide references.

About the area: Middle Tarwin is a fantastic location with close proximity to many coastal attractions such as Inverloch, Venus Bay, Waratah Bay, Sandy Point, Wilsons Promontory National Park, etc. It is 2 hours SE of Melbourne.
