Job Description
Bowness Stud & Watershed Farm near Young, NSW is seeking an experienced Foaling Attendant to work nights during foaling season (end July - November). Ongoing, longer term employment is also available.
The following skills are required:
Previous foaling experience and the ability to foal down mares on your own.
Experience with the care of neonatal foals and administering medication.
The ability to work alone and record information.
Current drivers licence.
The position involves living on farm in single accommodation, monitoring mares through the night and responding to foaling alarms to deliver foals. Must be confident in handling strong thoroughbreds and experienced in administering medication to mares and foals. Support staff will be on call to assist when needed. Bowness Stud and Watershed Farm is a large thoroughbred horse breeding, agistment and sale preparation farm, near Young in NSW. We enjoy employing experienced, knowledgeable and competent handlers and educators of strong young thoroughbred horses.
Anyone with an Australian work visa with extensive horse experience is most welcome to apply, we are a regional farm so we are eligible to sign off for the 88 days WHV 2nd Visa.
Young is a beautiful country town with lots of facilities and amenities, including Woolworths, IGA & Aldi supermarkets, Big W, Bunnings, cafes, pubs and more.
