Experienced Race Horse Stud & Stable Hands - Start 1st September 2024

Bowness Stud and Watershed Farm require very knowledgeable, experienced and confident horse educators of young thoroughbred horses. Please only apply if your resume demonstrates extensive past horse skills and experience. This position is for one person to start on the 1st September 2024.

The role also involves assisting with the foaling and breeding season, bringing mares and foals through the crush for the vet and following a breeding regime. The ongoing role after the breeding season involves handling and educating yeanlings for sales, including lunging, educating them to walk out and stand correctly for parades, grooming, washing, medicating, feeding, cleaning stables and other duties as required.

Must be very confident handling, hand walking and educating young unbroken stock and have previous stable hand experience. Experience in medicating unwell or horses with an injury, plus foal and broodmare handling is preferred. Must also be able to identify horse wellness, condition and health.

We require a commitment of at least 4 - 6 months work.
