Disability Support Worker - Brisbane

Responsibilities and Requirements:

1. Provide personalized daily living assistance to clients at their homes, equipped with an independent office and workspace.

2. Attend to clients with varying degrees of disabilities, offering one-on-one assistance and collaborating with colleagues when necessary.

3. Manage 1-3 clients in a household, engaging in activities like walks, shopping, and other daily routines.

4. Adapt to diverse cultural backgrounds of clients and be flexible in your approach.

5. Access 24-hour supervisor assistance and advice in case of emergencies.

Qualifications:

1. Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English, with daily report updates.

2. Cook according to menus, strictly adhering to clients' dietary restrictions.

3. Possess an Australian driver's license and have access to a personal vehicle.

4. Hold a FIRST AID+CPR certificate, available through online registration with a cost of up to $150.

5. Complete a Queensland police check online, costing around $55.

6. Apply for NDIS Worker Screening clearance (paid workers) before starting, with a fee of $138; avoid selecting volunteers for paid positions.

7. Demonstrate strong service orientation and empathy, considering the unique characteristics of clients with disabilities.

8. Accommodate self-housing arrangements.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Offer personalized care services, understanding clients' needs and health conditions.

2. Some clients may require assistance with showering, ensuring utmost privacy.

3. Fulfill daily tasks such as cleaning, cooking, and laundry as per the provided work list.
