Fender Geophysics is looking for casual field staff on geophysics crews. The role offers great opportunity for travel as we undertake surveys all over Australia and have offices in Sydney and Airlie Beach.
The majority of surveys are in NSW, Queensland and Victoria.
The survey locations can be remote. Field stints can be up to 4 weeks. Crew stay in a range of types of accommodation from tents in field camps to country pubs and motels or mine site accommodation.
Once on a survey all meals and accommodation are paid for. Travel to site is paid for though employment is usually ex the location of employment being Sydney or Airlie Beach preferably.
Applicants must have a current drivers licence and be comfortable driving in Australia.
Preference is given to:
• People with an interested or educated in geoscience. Geology, geophysics, geotechnical.
• People with an engineering background.
• People with an electrical or mechanical trade.
• Practical people who like to engage with a team.
NB: Despite the remote nature of the work and that it is in the field of mining and minerals exploration it is ineligible as specified for work for your second year 417 visa.
However if you have completed the specified 88 days this could be right up your alley.
