Coolgardie was once the third largest town in Western Australia. It's smaller today, but it's undergoing a modest revival. This outback hotel provides the main features -- cold beer and hot food. The Denver City also provides accommodation. The rooms have air conditioning, an asset in this torrid climate. Coolgardie is in an arid outback area, it's an interesting but unpretentious town, 345 miles (555 km) by car from Perth, the WA state capital.
