Midsumma Carnival
Event Day Sunday 21st January 2024
Event time: 11am to 10pm

Midsumma Carnival highlights the opening weekend of the three-week Festival each year, effectively opening the festival. Carnival is a huge single-day event, usually running from 11am until 10pm in Alexandra Gardens in Melbourne’s CBD, with a massive set up and overall coordination required for delivery each year.

Parade, pride and party come together once a year in Melbourne's iconic march. Over 50,000 people celebrate Midsumma Pride March 2024 in this day-long event as the March struts down Fitzroy Street with ferocity, uniqueness, and diversity.


Midsumma: Victoria's Pride Street Party

The iconic Gertrude and Smith Streets will once again be transformed into a free, all-day, jam-packed, block party for all ages, with multiple live music stages and performances from local and international musicians and artists to celebrate Victoria’s diverse communities.

Local businesses all down Gertrude and Smith Street will benefit from the party – serving food and drink to the thousands of people expected to attend across the day, while some will be incorporated into the party with shopfront activations and performances in venues.

The role:

CIA is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all bathroom facilities consisting of mainly portable single units and toilet blocks as well as some fixed council bathrooms, cleaning and restocking throughout the event.

Our team are also responsible for Waste Management, maintaining the event precinct in a clean, waste-free manner by collecting waste from the grounds and rotating the bins onsite as required.

As a member of our team, you will at all times provide a professional service, supporting the team and customers to achieve a high standard of cleaning across the Midsumma Festival of events.
