Byron Bay has a reputation that precedes itself, with beautiful beaches, a laid-back vibe and bohemian culture that is hard to tear yourself away from. Farm jobs in Byron Bay include fruit and vegetable harvesting, with avocados, lychees, stone fruit, custard apples, nuts and berries all grown here, as well as in the rural surrounds of nearby Lismore and Ballina. February/ March and May through to December are the best times to find farm work in Byron, although backpacker jobs may also be available year-round in the region's coffee-growing and brewing industry or general labouring on organic farms.
